Tesla would definitely take it in trade but it would be valued based on being a RWD 3 compared to a Performance 3. Just submit it for a trade quote and you can save the tax and hassle of selling. This car is likely not available but at least you would have a 30 day quote if something came along.

Sadly in CA we don't get the tax benefit on the trade in.
