I received the same email regarding my order... and here is the photo they sent me. I also am wondering how significant of a change this is...

not really a big change, just cosmetics, there's a lot of silver line trim around the car, every door panel and the front dash. guess they wanted to go with a darker color

IMO the silver looks really cheap. Like obvious painted plastic. Graphite looks better

I think it is a pretty minor change. Both looks fine to me, I have the older silver trim one. The white panels under the dash probably were gone due to being constantly dirty looking. I would prefer them to be black, but then again, I have a black interior model s.

I wonder if the black dash panels is a P100D thing with Model S and X? My plain 100D Model X email notification shows the white dash panels and not the black ones.

The 2 pics in my original post were the top 1 is what I should be getting, and the 2nd pic was what was configured at design when I ordered in April...
So neither has white around dash or center console.
Do you have a pic of what you are referring to?

Agree with viper2ko, the silver trim is the cheapest looking aspect of both our Model S interiors - and should make our new Model X (June) look much better inside - with the ultra white seats and carbon fiber accents.

Nope, that was changed several months ago.

For Sure. If it looked like that, I may have chosen that over Carbon Fiber.
But I'm Happy with my Choices and should be getting mine within a Month Now, Woo Hoo.

Agreed. The silver trim so far is pretty much the only thing that is showing wear. It does look cheap with the finish starting to wear out in the handle areas.

By comparison the black pleather seats are still looking brand new after 30k miles.

Oh man! That... Looks... SHARP!!! I'm digging the graphite with the carbon fiber, especially with the black dash panels!!

I took delivery yesterday and the graphite trim looks so much better, specially with the dark headliner.
