New Grey for Model S

i really like both! a lot of manufacturers have both a light and dark grey in their lineups because grey has become so popular. not sure why Tesla won't do the same.

"Steel Grey" is also a mercedes color, and if it resembles that, i think it will be STUNNING on the Model S. we have steel grey on our GL550 and this is our second GL in this color. absolutely love it with the subtle blue flake. really accentuates all the body lines. it's a beautiful color (sorry if it's blasphemy to post non-Tesla pics):

Have to say that the new grey appears to be way "cooler" than the old one. One of my fellow Model S's at work is the current grey; the owner typically plugs it in alongside mine almost everyday at the two HPWCs there. The grey looks increasingly dull and tepid the more I see it, particularly when mated with the standard 19" wheels. The grey ("titanium"?) on one of the LEAFs nearby looks far nicer.

Also, for a car of the Model S's proportions, lighter colors do not necessarily work in my opinion. There's a reason for the dark shades; they look classy, elegant and timeless for such a big car. My wife's cousin in San Jose - who waited a few months for the MC Red - wishes he got one of the darker colors each time he sees my green; he considers his own bright MC Red to be a bit tacky-looking after a year of ownership.

I think the "Metallic" addition is the highlight of this new color. I think they are trying to make the color pop more. I would have chosen the metallic gray if available when I ordered my car two years ago...Guess I might have to sell mine.

You and I are hopelessly biased toward the other "G" color.

No notification would be really bad! Imagine showing up at the factory getting a different color car.

Just received a reply from my DS that my order is automatically switched to the new Grey. Not sure if I should be happy about this.
Would really like to see this shade in reality.

I'm personally obsessed with color.... As a dolphin grey owner I have no idea now what I'd buy.
I never would have guessed that a thread discussing a new shade of grey could go on for 6 pages...
