So I Oder the model y LR on 29, after minutes received confirmation of the vehicle details which come with VIN. Called second day morning ask if the vehicle was in stock, been told they order extra for fast delivery. Production date 01/21, come with heating wheel and auto dim mirrors and 128GB USB preinstalled in the glove box. But Doesn’t come with Adaptive Headlights. VIN 096xxx

There's lots of work Tesla is doing to streamline. We're seeing a shift to common interior door panels for black and white interiors (except for small trim part), a new center console with half the parts and complexity of the previous version, and isn't the switch to the new headlight design a way to produce one world-wide headlight fixture? If so, it doesn't mean it's better than the current NA version. It might actually be a slight downgrade with the projector beam. Be careful what you wish for...

Not so sure about that. LED Matrix beams (and similar technologies from other manufacturers) have some very cool "party tricks" that can make driving much safer and easier in low light conditions. There's a good thread on the subject here---> Matrix LED headlights finally coming to the US! | Tesla Motors Club

Once the US get's rid of the antiquated headlight rules, and allows the full use of the technology, it will become clear that these new headlights are far superior to the current technology.

US laws like this hasnt changed in centuries but Audi and Ford found workarounds. That's why you see sequential lights now but the bulb has to be a certain length as well as the housing.

I'm just hoping for it because it's the definition of future proofing. Tesla always pushes the boundaries so we never know when they come up with something awesome that works only with the new headlights in the future. One thing is adaptive high beams that knows when a car or person is in view and turns off the high beams in that area only. Features already in EU but not in US
