All of you saying you don`t care about new console, headlight, heated wheel etc i agree with you, but once you decide to SELL your vehicle those upgrades WILL count !
And a lot ! And if you know they are coming soon i don`t understand why you don`t wait couple of more weeks

What about the depreciation of what you’re currently driving? The longer you wait the less it will be worth at trade-in or resell. If you’re sharing a car or using some kind of alternate transit, what about the marginal cost of your time that’s being spend bc you don’t have the car you plan to eventually buy anyway. I’d argue time spent even contemplating such nominal enhancements is time-value lost.

I think the only reason I am waiting is because the updates are already being shown in the MIC Model Y and so they should eventually make it here to the US so I am fine waiting, but if it is something like air suspension or longer range batteries, unless it is physically shown I probably won't wait for them.

And if you keep on waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting, you'll get the new structural batteries, the high precision build from Texas Gigafactory, actual working FSD, etc.... It's like trying to time a stock to buy at the top!

Don't forget that we're still missing some fundamental economy car features that one day may show up and justify further waiting, such as blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic monitor, ventilated seats, 360 top-down camera, auto wipers with a real rain sensor, and CarPlay!

Yep. The driving yourself crazy bug is something I'm trying to purge from myself too. None of these decisions are permanent. So glad I didn't wait for my M3. Had some fantastic experiences with it.

Funny thing, I made some 2m plus on Tesla in the last 2 years. I could now easily trade my M3 for an updated M3 performance now.
But I still love the car, even without the power trunk or updated headlights. Every. Single. Time. I. Get. In. It.

The time you DON'T get to spend enjoying these amazing cars you will never get back.

Our Y was manufactured January 31st with VIN 116xxx, and none of the other Ys that arrived the same day had the new headlights either even with VIN 120xxx. VINs aren't used up in order, so the more important item is probably manufacture date that can be found above the QR code sticker (before it's removed for delivery).

You already took delivery? I have a 115 vin which left the factory of 1/30 according to my advisor. Still waiting to pick it up (this Saturday).

Your Y is performance or no? Lools like tesla is doing the same thing as model 3. Only model 3 performance get the new headlight for now.

Sorry, forgot to mention that our Y that we accepted and none of the other Ys were performance. It did come with 2020.47.101.1, which is the same software that some Model 3s are getting delivered now also with heated steering wheel enabled.

I thought all 3s were showing up with the new headlights. On the 3 forums, people reporting new lights from end of December on a range of 3s including non-performance. I imagine cause they ship the 3s to Europe vs the Y has stayed in North America.

I reached out to my Tesla delivery specialists today. I had a 2/4 build 119xxx and it had the old headlights. Seems like the switch happened on 2/5 or maybe late 2/4 possibly. Or maybe they’re rolling it out on the MYP. Imagine we’ll get a better idea in the next week as people take delivery from the 2/4-5 builds.

Decided to delay delivery since I’m in no rush and don’t need the car right away.
