On September 11th, we placed an order for a new 75D that was located in Raleigh, NC.

It was good to go, we just needed to have it shipped to the SC near Washington DC.

As of yesterday (10 days later), being a little frustrated with the fact that the car hadn't shipped yet, we actually found a slightly better optioned new inventory car located in New Jersey at a lower price.

I called our owner advisor and was able to switch to the better discounted car at the last minute (yay!). Called our delivery specialist today, to make sure that everything was good, and suddenly the car is located in Florida rather New Jersey, oh well. As long as they can get it shipped.

So to those who've bought new inventory models, that required shipping, what kind of timelines from deposit to delivery have you seen?

Expect the car to ship/arrive within 10 business days, then expect to wait a few more business days to get on the schedule for orientation and while the car is being prepared for delivery. I ordered my car on July 16 and took delivery Aug. 3rd.

Hi -- I paid my deposit online for a design spec car on September 8th, mainly to snag the 24 year lease special they had running. I went into Tyco Road to do a test drive and after the drive, the OA offered to run a search on inventory vehicles. Managed to find a fully loaded MS70D with only 132 miles that we had re-configured to a MS60D. We were able to transfer the $2500 deposit without issue and get the waiver on the Documentation/Destintation Fee. So for me its been ~17 days since confirmation to delivery.

The car was located in Indianapolis and it got to Tyco on Friday. I am picking it up tomorrow evening with my kids.

Hope you're vehicle is on its way soon.

PS. What time of code do you monkey around with....Java, SQL, Python etc....

How many miles are allowed on those special 24 year leases?

You can choose 10,000, 12,000 or 15,000 but most peopel seem to find that choosing 10,000 and paying overage is likely to be better than buying in to higher allowances. It seems to depend on the State you're in, among other things.

That seems super duper low given the time length of the lease.

I placed an order for an inventory car Sept. 7th.
I was told it was a regional car and there was a good chance Id take delivery in a couple of days. Turns out, car was in the bay area sitting on the lot. 3 weeks go by. Nothing. DS pinged the car, it still had not moved.

I then found a better deal on the exact same config, just different color, in Chicago last Tuesday. Had the deposit and everything switched since my previous car hadn't moved in 3 weeks. Still haven't heard anything yet and it's been 6 days. I was told this would be transported by truck and it's traveling 650 miles. Not really that far.

Emailed my DS this morning, got an automated reply about "making history, we're super busy".

Pretty doubtful I'll be taking delivery before the end of the month. Some people get lucky it seems and order an inventory car and receive it in a few days, or at least already have a delivery date set for this week. Even if the car does have to travel further than mine does.

All in all, I'm almost 4 weeks in waiting on an order I was told would be a couple of days...

Ouch. Looks like Q4 deliveries will be strong in the first few weeks of the quarter, just from them biting off more then they could chew in Q3.

So actually just got ahold of another delivery specialist who I guess was on phone duty. My car has arrived. The MVPA for alliant financing isn't done yet and they didn't have my updated trade in offer from CarMax. CarMax offers expire after 7 days so of course I waiting on them to tell me my car arrived. Glad I called...wish they could have told me, but hopefully I'll be all finished soon.

I'm sure the OA's and DS's are highly annoyed by people constantly asking, but it turns out you really need to constantly be asking...vehicle was here.

That sounds awesome! I actually just got an unexpected call from my DS today, letting me know that there's a good chance that we can pick it up on Friday at Tyco Road. Definitely bringing the whole family as well.

Hehe, I'm monkeying around with just about anything. These days I'm doing mostly PHP, Node.js and React.js.

Excited to hopefully participate in EV/Tesla events in the DC area.

I'm hoping to take delivery today or tomorrow! Still don't have a set time. I was emailing my DS back and forth last night around 10pm about trade in information. So they are working long hours right now. Yeah I would definitely give them a call maybe around mid-day to see if there are any updates.

    Specs are
    90D
    red
    19" wheels
    black leather/headliner
    Autopilot
    air suspension
    sound system pkg
    premium pkg
    pano roof

Just talked to Tesla directly and checked the status. It looks my car is shipped and on its way to Dallas. Tentatively, they have set my delivery date as 9/29. I already completed my Trade-in and all other things(Loan/insurance) ready and checked...Hopefully just 2 more sleepless nights :)

Ordered on 9/21, Inventory 90D just rolled off the assembly line in Fremont (at that point, my OA mentioned it was still wrapping up the standard tests of the vehicle), took delivery yesterday on 9/27 in Denver.
