New mobile app very laggy/slow

Since owning my M3P I've only ever used the app for locking the car (unlocking is obviously automatic).

The latest version of the mobile app makes this very frustrating with a significant lag between the 'button' push and the car actually locking and no indication of if the car/app is thinking about it or if the push didn't register.

It got me so frustrated I've ended up going back to the old version of the app and thinking about buying a key fob.

Mobile is Samsung S8.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Also side note, walk away lock seems to leave my lights on for ages, is this normal?

I use walk away lock and don’t really notice how long the lights stay on. However, the lag with the updated app is TERRIBLE. I used to be able to open the app, wait a few seconds at most to establish connection, and do whatever (mostly start climate). Now it sits there and gives me the wheel of death as it spins sometimes for up to 15-20 seconds just to connect. WHY?!
