LOVE IT!!!!
Just picked up my 2020 Model 3 LR Stealth in Red 2wk ago.... have a few questions:
1.) I purchased the performance package. So is my car a P3D- version?
2.) How do I know for sure that I have the Stealth version? Is it true that the bar under "Dual Motor" on the app and on the back of the car indicates it has the Perfomance Upgrade? FYI - I do have the option of selecting Track Mode on my display
3.) Will be going away for a week. Do I leave the Tesla plugged in while away?
Super love reading the Threads on this site!
Thanks in advance for any answers to the above.

1. Yes, if you bought the long range all wheel drive with the $2,000 performance upgrade you have what is also known as the P3D-.
2. The red underline and track mode are performance only. If you have a 2020 you can also tell by the 8th position in your VIN, C denotes a performance variant.
3. Yes, leave it plugged in at 90% charge limit or lower.

Congrats on the new car!

Officially, there is no such thing as stealth or p3d minus or p3d cubed or anything

Your AWD drivetrain is either performance (higher power), or it isn't. (RWD drivetrain does not come in performance variant)

If it is performance, you may optionally also have the performance package with 20" wheels and trunk spoiler and lower suspension and etc. That's what constitutes a Package

Take time to sit in the garage with seat heater on low and go through every screen, look at all the options and be sure to scroll down in case there is more than one page. Play some good tunes while going through the owner manual, adjusting settings as you learn about them. I had the luxury of waiting 751 days before delivery to read and youtube information about this amazing vehicle.

There is a Performance with PUP (Performance Upgrade Package or what the public calls P3D+) or a Performance without PUP (ie what the public considers "stealth" or P3D-; no longer offered by Tesla but there may still be inventory stock available). PUP comes with:
  • Performance Brakes
  • Carbon fiber spoiler
  • Lowered suspension
  • Aluminum alloy pedals
  • Increased top speed from 145mph to 162mph
  • Track Mode
  • 20" Performance wheels
Since you have the option to select Track Mode, I'll assume you have a Performance with PUP. What size are your rims? What color are the brake calipers? (w/ PUP the calipers are red)

Welcome to the forum. That said, GOOD GRIEF. You're asking these questions AFTER you buy the car? Does nobody do ANY due diligence before dropping $50k+ on a car?

Would you consider a test drive due diligence? Cause I haven't driven a Model 3 yet and I'm picking mine up tomorrow. LOL

What does your Monroney sticker show?

As others have pointed out, to Tesla there is no such thing as “stealth” Performance or “P3D-“ or anything like that.

If you can select Track Mode than you clearly have a Model 3 Performance. Whether you have the optional brakes, lowered suspension, rear spoiler, only you can say.

All Ps have track mode, regardless of + or -

Same with the 162 top speed.

Absolutely! You know what you want and you know what version of the car you’re buying I assume? Who needs to drive it!?:D

Not sure that’s true outside of America. I remember reading you needed to have the spoiler installed and Tesla would update the system to unlock 162mph.

I've seen a couple folks claim they "heard" that- but I've never seen evidence of a P3D- genuinely having any SW difference at all other than an extra warning when they enable track mode.

Not the P3D- I don’t think. The + though.

Around 10 mins in. Read into that what you will.

It does seem odd to me that the 3P- goes 162 with far inferior tires (USA anyway) after watching that video, but maybe Bjorn was wrong all along?

I wonder if the US P3D- goes 162 simply because they don't expect anyone to really spend much time there, but they're pickier in Europe since you might actually get on the autobahn with the thing?

EDIT- Actually this thread suggests it's random if the 162 is unlocked or not on the P3D- from the factory- with multiple batches coming with 162 and some coming with 145....all P3D-

Did Stealth model get max speed limited to 145mph? : TeslaModel3

Which might explain why folks keep disagreeing. They're both right.

Perhaps so. I doubt we will ever really know the full extent of it since no 3P+ cars are delivered without spoilers since around May, 2019. When I got my 3P+ on May 2 my delivery specialist said it was one of the fist P models that came from Fremont with the spoiler already on.
