New Model S 75D front plate bracket attached?

I had read about different ways to display the front license plates without drilling into the car. I saw about zip ties and a few other brackets/gizmos that worked using the grill.

So I asked the Delivery Specialist (I just ordered 10/31) if they could not drill the car in the front and could the shop install something else. His response was "it comes from the factory with front license plate bracket attached to the bumper. We aren't allowed to remove this as the vehicle was crash tested with this attached".

Is this true? Is it new? If it is true, why would anyone bother to buy any of the other products?

Been that way since the front end refresh. It's not drilled on, just double sided adhesive and two bolts on the underside lip of the bracket.

Most of the other methods and devices are for the older nosecone version Model S. That version did have the bracket bolted to the nosecone.

Others who have the refresh version find the factory bracket not attractive since it is smack dab in the middle of the front. Some like it lower and offset to one side.

My service center told me the same upon delivery. Look up something like hidden license plate bracket

The mustang one should work on any car. You'll just drill a hole on the underside of the front of the bumper and bolt it up. If my State required a front plate I'd do this or the remote controlled version of this one
