New Model Y Price Reduction

New Model Y Price Reduction - The Model Y just received a $3,000 price decrease on the LR AWD.

Here is my dilemma, I have a LR AWD Red with White Interior Model Y that has been on order since January. I just received a text from Tesla 30 minutes ago asking me to schedule my delivery. Do I except the car and lose $3,000, do I order a new car or is there another suggestion??

There's another thread for this. Someone said they were able to contact their advisor and have the price adjusted.

I just received delivery of my Model Y about 2 weeks ago. I am thinking of asking for a rebate for the $2000 price drop. Has anyone else tried this?

Yes and you pretty much get a slap in the face for asking. Anything beyond the 7 day return window is out of Tesla's hands.

I asked my advisor yesterday when I heard the news and he pretty much gave me a backhand. Lets hope Elon has a change of heart and does something in the next few days. I am sure a lot of people will be sending complaints and potentially lawsuits will start rolling.

There is 0 basis for a lawsuit

Good luck with that. You got what you paid for and don’t deserve a penny after the return window closes.
This is BS. Watch ppls will sue Tesla
Go ahead. You will get nowhere.

This happens all the time. Cars, electronics, you name it. What grounds do you have to sue? It is an open economy, capitialism, a brand new anything will most likely start off high and then drop in price at some point due to weakened sales, competition for price, newer models to replace it, etc. Did you sue Apple when the price of your phone went down? How about Microsoft for their X-Box? How about your grocery store when they put out their sales flyer and some of the items you just bought are now cheaper? Or the gas station if you bought before a price drop? You have no grounds to sue. Tesla offered a product at a price that was agreed upon when the sale was made, the deal was done. Your only recourse is if you are within the 7 day, 1000 mile return period, you can try that. Otherwise get over it, Tesla owes you nothing.

And just to play devil's advocate, what if you had placed your order but never took delivery before the FSD price increase July 1? By this logic then should Tesla be able to charge the extra $1k or $2k when you actually take delivery? Can't have it both ways...

I picked up my MY July 9th and price drop two days after. I emailed my delivery specialist who helped me throughout the process. Let’s see what he has to say. I am still well within 7 days/1000miles grace period so maybe they will reimburse $3000? We shall see!

For the difference I paid for my Model X and for what they go for now (including MCU2) I almost could buy a Model 3. Do I care? NO. Just don't think about it and enjoy what you bought.

Don’t get me wrong. I love the model y and it is an awesome car but literally within 48 hours after picking up the car, its $3000 cheaper. yes $3000 is not a big deal but still it leaves sour taste in your mouth since most likely person who was helping me knew this was coming.
