Though the picture accompanying the article shows Superchargers, this is about the L2 chargers Tesla provides for free. Despite this, politicians still manage to slow down the process.

Are they referring to HPWCs when they are talking about Tesla L2 chargers? I can see why the city may want non-proprietary chargers, but how much are those chargers? Aren't they much more than the $1000 or so for an HPWC?

Yes, I presumed from the article that they meant primarily HPWC's, as well as a smaller amount of J1772 chargers, all supplied by Tesla for free. I've heard that Tesla has donated both as a destination charging package to various establishments, so I can see them doing to for the municipality. I presume the breakdown of numbers by type are for planned future sales (Model 3)?
