New owner… I wish someone would've warned me

New owner here of an M3P. Love the car but wished someone warned me it will make everything feel SLOW. I drove my Vette the other day which is procharged and makes around 600hp. It felt like garbage!

Looking forward to learning from you guys! Completely love this thing

True, other cars will feel slow, but I have to admit to the following: My son wanted to learn to drive stick shift before these cars are gone for good, so we bought a used 2014 Focus ST two weeks ago. I am finding now excuses to hop into the ST and row through the gears myself. Not bad for that vehicle weight it has a 2 liter turbo engine with 250HP and 270 lb-ft torque, i.e., a fun-to-drive hot hatch. What I would really like is if Tesla would produce a hatchback EV in the form factor of a VW GTI or Focus ST, I would immediately trade in my current Model 3 and get that one.

Yeah, the mix of instant torque, a really slick AWD implementation, and no gears/shifting makes it insanely quick. And there's no launch control, setup, etc., you stop ... you go fast.

Definitely setup your regen for full stop, once you've experience one foot driving you'll wonder why anything else makes sense :)

FWIW, I had a C5 Z06, pretty done up (but NA).

The newer Z06 are quicker if that's your thing. I drive the M3P but I keep it in chill. More of a contest on how low I can keep the Watts per mile.

I'm trying to see how high I can get, I'm trying to sustain around 400 Wh/mile ...
