New owner question about autopilot - car says “calibrating”

Just got the car yesterday and was hoping to engage the auto pilot function but it won’t do it saying that the cameras are calibrating. How long does this go on ?

look at the steering wheel (AP) icon in the top left, it will be grey with a certain amount shaded blue - that is the indicator of how much more driving you need before it starts working.
At least it used to be but various firmware updates may have changed that.

mine took less than a day. others report up to a week. Any longer than a week (assuming you drive regularly) contact service
