A patent filed in relation to the Tesla Cybertruck has indicated that the highly-anticipated electric car will feature some futuristic and durable windows that are bent in shape.

Filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on August 12, the patent covers windows with “curves and feature lines” and the means of manufacturing them, which Tesla describes as applying heat to the glass via a laser and bending the glass at that location. Additional layers of glass could potentially then be stacked to form a “curved multi-layer glass structure.” The method allows for bending at an aggressive curvature with a radius between 2mm and 5cm that traditional methods can not offer.

The patent suggests that it is possible that the interior of the Cybertruck may also be made out of this specialized glass too, such as the dashboard and side panels. Tesla details in the patent that the glass structure it’s proposing could also be used for “gauges, displays (e.g., electronic displays), instrument clusters, inside panels for doors, consoles, and so on.”

A patent doesn’t necessarily mean that it will be build. Potential Customers of the Cybertruck will have to wait until 2022 to see the final version of Tesla’s Cybertruck after the company delayed its debut. There is no official release date set just yet.
