It's been that way since day one, which was months ago.
I think it's good idea for the car to avoid cones as much as fire hydrants?

i think the point is the car can ID certain things and for now its just using the icons it has in firmware. as the software matures and more data comes in, i think we will start to see more unique icons for different things the car sees.

I believe they put more in the updates than what we know about. Like bug fixes and such.
it’s agile software development. Release an imperfect solution and then iterate and release improvements.

Incremental updates. Trucks used to be seen as cars, nowadays they're seen as trucks.
Why would they put out an update showing trucks as cars? Better they show nothing if it's not 100% correct?
It also depends on the HW. HW2.5 doesn't seem to show things as accurately as HW3.

It is a visualization, and visualizations are generally some level of accuracy that is less than perfection. If you want perfect why not just have a video feed of the front camera there instead? Or just look out the window?

Guard rail ends are also "cones" to Tesla's latest software. About 75% of the cones identified on my screen, are not cones, and are off the roadway.

Gotta love when people set their software preference to Advanced and than complain when things are not 100% polished. Go back to Standard if you cannot handle a place holder graphic. The tagging is coming don't worry...
