I want to start a discussion on new ways and forms of dashboards.
Cars have been having the same style of dashboards for years and years.

Now that we are moving to more lcd-style dashboards or in case of the Model S a large tactile centre screen and a smaller screen for dials and other things I was wondering if maybe in the near future (Model E maybe??) we can expect to start to see some sort of Head-Up display style of dashboard. Getting away from the dials in front of the driver and replace it all together with only a HUD which shows the relevant information of the moment like speed, battery, navigation, ...

Audi is now for example integrating already the navigation in the centre of the dial cluster in the dashboard. Won't it be fun and really revolutionary to see all dials gone and only what you need projected on the windscreen. This way you can free up space in the dashboard to implement a extra space for storing small items like wallets, mobile phones, house keys, ...

Please feel free to give me your opinions and ideas. Many thanks already.
