New supercharger map

Looks like Tesla updated the Supercharger map for north America so that it drops the fall and winter projections for a "coming soon" map in addition to the 2014 and 2015 maps. I think this is a good thing as the more granular previous projection was probably too difficult to achieve given the various challenges with siting and permitting and simply looked unachievable with the seasons that were projected. This changeprobably will make the expectations of future and current customers easier to manage.

A little discouraging as it appears they are not going to do the 385 / Mammoth Route any longer that was originally planned for this past fall / winter. That would kill getting a Model X and we'd need to stay gas. Understand the tradeoffs, but kills that for us.

In another thread someone said they had contacted Tesla about 385/Mammoth and this is the reply:-

Thank you for your email. We are so glad to hear you are enjoying your car and appreciate your continued your support in Tesla.

We updated our maps just yesterday and there are a few dots that did not transfer over in the process. The route along 395 is one of the routes that was mistakenly left off of the map and this is being corrected on the backend as we speak. In fact, we can let you know that this route is a priority for us and you will be able to drive from Los Angeles to Mammoth and back with Model S as planned in 2014. Apologies if we scared you with that omission and thank you very much for bringing it to our attention.

If you have suggestions for future sites, please tell us about them here—our developers use this database first when scouting new Supercharger locations.

Keep checking our website for new site announcements (there are lots more coming soon across the US!). Again, we appreciate your enthusiasm in Tesla and our Supercharger technology.

Thanks,
The Tesla Supercharger Team

Yes if you saw the video posted for the Macedonia SC everyone would agree Tesla has an UPHILL battle getting small local government to understand the concept.

UPHILL? that was REALLY begnin. Nothing special, nothing hard, just your standard daily fare. That didn't even constitue a speed bump, please. Just wished the Tesla representative dressed a bit better...

Glad to see Decatur/Athens AL and Birmingham on the 2015 map but am not going to hold my breath because they haven't even selected sites for Nashville and Louisville which were on the 2014 map.

Appears there are two very close Superchargers to be built in Nashville this year if one is to believe the map.

For some reason Memphis doesn't appear until 2016. That doesn't seem right.
