Superchargers on the NJ Turnpike (speculation, discussion)

I stopped by a few of the southbound NJ Turnpike service areas today to check on the progress of ones in permit/construction status. The Clara Barton service Supercharger installation seems mostly built out. Still missing a meter but everything else looks in place. I wasn't able to check the northbound side (John Fenwick), but my guess would be that those are in a similar state of construction too. No construction at Walt Whitman, and no change of status at Richard Stockton since the last update in that thread, although I did see workers yesterday across the highway at the northbound Woodrow Wilson service area.

According to Supercharge.info the Clara Barton (southbound near exit 1) SC is under construction.

While crowd sourcing this afternoon I found this at John Fenwick north bound at exit 1. Clara Barton south bound looked about the same status. Not turned on yet.
Interesting sign said only 30 minute charging allowed.

Pedricktown, NJ - John Fenwick is now listed as open on Tesla's Find Us site. No update for the southbound Clara Barton Superchargers.
So, if feds restrict certain businesses from collecting fees on turnpikes, why not just make the Tesla chargers "free" ?
Gas stations don't give out free gas on turnpikes. Why would Tesla give away free electricity?

what fee's do Fed's restrict? Not aware of the federal involved in turnpikes (even interstate turnpikes)
I misunderstood.... certain turnpikes were grandfathered in from the fed mandate prohibiting sales of certain items.

Chargers are at far end of area. Past the gas station.

Yay! That's the Southbound one I was most looking forward to.
Walt Whitman (Cherry Hill southbound) is under construction. I just drove by and 8 pedestals are installed along with two cabinets still covered in their shipping wrappers. Need a construction cone, @corywright @MarcoRP @Chuq
