New Thinner More Comfortable Seats

I picked up my 2020 raven today and I like the seats the ones in the picture with less meat seem they will hurt on long drives. I had recaros on my last car and they were a mix of racing plus luxury. On my e63 it had auto adjusting lumbar where it will inflate and deflate during turns to keep you in place I think a software update could do that on a Tesla

So if you ordered a month ago but still pending a VIN, you will be getting the new seats regardless of what was shown online on your order date? Hopefully they are improved and the more comfortable padding has been well tested. So many older seats just look terrible as if they need to be re-stuffed.

Tesla's are 2019 vehicle's until delivery January 1st 2020. Tesla does not follow other manufactures with yearly updates they do updates all through the year.
kinda true, but the VIN is the VIN, and the date on it controls regardless on when Tesla delivers.
Not anymore. I pick up my 2020 Performance model tomorrow.

Unfortunately it’s true. Any “model year” can be designated at the discretion of the manufacturer as early as Jan 2nd of the preceding year. Tesla designating its model years in the actual year the car was made was actually something of an aberration until now. In the US, it’s pretty common for a given model year to begin sale in the summer or fall of the previous year - e.g. most manufacturers have been selling their 2020 models for several months at this point. Doesn’t make sense, but then again we’re one of 3 countries in the world that doesn’t use the metric system of measurements (along with the other scientific/industrial powerhouses of Liberia and Myanmar).

picked up my 2020 yesterday as well Also in US they start selling the next year models around sep time frame this does not happen automatically though like all the new 2019 cars on deal lot do not become 2020 model year they stay 2019 and I think cars made after September can be sold as 2020.

Someone has more info on the new Model S front seats announced today? Are they already installed in the currently delivered Model S?

I’m guessing the new ones because the headrest doesn’t adjust. I’m 6’1” 183 lbs and find them to quite comfortable
If the model S has headrest adjustment it is on the bolster knob as you asked. Page 22 of the owners manual.

Must be something new(er) as I've got a 12/2014 Model S that caries a 2014 model year. I wish they had made it a 2015 though as that would help get a few more eyes using search criteria & sorting by year.
