Greetings All,

We are test driving a Model S today as we have never driven electric, which we believe will be a formality as we have pretty much decided we want to put a reservation down on the Model 3.

We are based in the UK and I was wondering if there was any breakdown in the reservations by country? Our store which is based in Leeds was very quiet when we visited at the weekend (it only opened on launch day so was expecting it to be busier) which surprised also.

We were considering an Audi RS3 as our next car but we wanted a saloon and currently the UK only gets the hatch and something put us off spending £50k, when we've seen the specs for the model 3 it ticks all our boxes, if presumably like the S you can spec an uprated battery pack for increased range and performance. My wife is home during the day and we have a 4KW solar array so charging shouldn't be an issue and we will save greatly on fuel.

Looking forward to killing 2/3 years here while we wait for the car...

Hello and welcome.

Will leave it up to you to browse through discussions here including battery options - mostly speculation but with some reasoning logic applied so not entirely random guesses.

If you are trying to find the length of order queue ahead of you in the UK that is not going to be straight forward. Once you pre-order, there will be a confirmation email within 24-hours followed by a reservation number appearing in "My Tesla" and sometime thereafter, in the coming months we are all expecting another email asking us to configure our cars. After that, we will have a better idea when we can expect the car, at least that is what we are hoping.

Thanks for the reply.

We test drove a P85D and had an hour long test drive. The car was fully loaded and the product specialist demonstrated the summon feature, switched the AC on in the car for us while we were walking to it so it was cool when we got there. We had the opportunity to use Autopilot and Active Park. So pleased we didn't order the Audi now. We've paid our deposit and now the wait begins!

Hopefully the battery options are similar to the S and we can spec a decent range pack with the level of performance we experienced today. The model 3 is truly going to be a game changer!
