I got a new update this am... I am scared to execute... Has anyone done it?
Assuming it's 188.8.131.52.19 it's a wide release. Lots of people have installed it don't know if it's been out long enough to know what changed. Keep track of it by going to the end of the following thread.
When and if you install it be sure to update Tesla Tracker
Tesla Firmware Upgrade Tracker Web App
I just got one as well. It shows estimate time of 2 hours 38 minutes to install
It's the longest I've seen so far
In reality it takes just 30 minutes to install. See above post on where this discussion takes place.
I don't have a Tesla yet. Is this process similar to a Windows update? Does it download automatically and then one presses execute?
Generally the car just alerts you that an update is available and you tap the box on the screen to install or delay installation until a later time (can't update while driving )
Yep, pretty much like that.
Nothing so far. I am at 7.24.30 on a non AP MS 85. I have been at this build for right at a month. Previously it seemed I was getting and update every couple of weeks.
Anyone with a Non AP Classic MS get the update this morning?
I just want to ensure AP is not disabled... Can anyone confirm this?
I installed an update yesterday night and I used AP this morning.
Got the update as well.
My car is new and paid for AP. Disabling it would require refunds correct. I dont think they would disable it without communication. But my 1st update so i wouldn't know.
Yes. Says 45 min and will install tonight
The update is downloaded silently. When the download is complete you receive a notice on the 17" screen -- and on your phone via Tesla's app, if such notifications are enabled -- and you can choose when to install it.
Each of the 11 notices on the 17" screen that I've had since my car was new has said it will take 1:40 to install, regardless of how long it will actually take. The one that I installed this morning, 2.28.19, took 30 minutes after the prelude, a 2-minute countdown.
After installing, please update the Tesla Firmware Upgrade Tracker Web App at http://ev-fw.com/track-reports.php
You are alerted via the Tesla app and your car that a software update is available, and then you can schedule an exact time for this to download and install (i.e. when you're sleeping or otherwise not using the vehicle for an hour or 2). My iPhone requires me to download/install only when I am using my device, can't schedule it
Folks, autopilot isn't going anywhere. Relax.
Not only is it not going anywhere. It will only get better/improve from here. Elon Musk announces ‘moderate to big’ improvements for Autopilot on current hardware
But But Consumers report demanded it! Its seems as if elon always yields when they demand something....
Do you know what build you had before the update was pushed?
Just noticed autopilot hunting for road the little more
If you mean bounciness I noticed the same thing.
