New upper trunk molding

I tried at my SC last week but will give it another try in a week or so when I get my bulging a-pillar molding fixed.
I just picked up my car from the SC today. On the list of things was the bulging a-pillar headliner. They said they looked at it, reseated it, and when it still looked the same, they compared it with other model 3’s, and that they’re all like that. Said that because of where it snaps, there’s nothing to attach the part that bulges. Doesn’t make sense why the passenger side a-pillar looks perfect to me.

Hope your SC has more success with fixing this for you.

Well since nobody else can confirm this I will. I was able to get this piece successfully installed. FYI, your service center might not know about this missing piece so I would recommend bringing pictures or asking them to go around looking at some of the newer 3’s on the lot if they have any.

Do you have a service invoice that lists the part number?

Just asked SC advisor, "they cannot provide me with the trunk garnish, my vehicle didn't come with that option"

VIN 005xxx from January 2018.
Lol. That’s exactly what they told me at first. Just be persistent. Ask what option they are talking about. They are only shipping one option at this time. Ask them to look at other cars in their possession and let them know it’s a missing piece.

I took delivery of my Model 3 yesterday and there was a large piece in a plastic bag in the trunk. The delivery specialist had no idea, and just said when you go to service first time ask them. So I took it out of the bag and started looking at it, then kind of remembered this thread. I looked up under there and sure enough, I don't have this piece. And this seems like it would fit perfectly. Now, to decide if I should figure out how to attached it or just wait.

Out of curiosity what is your VIN? Seems strange that even cars being delivered today still don’t have this piece integrated into their production line.

Can you please confirm the part number of this piece? I tried asking Sc and they weren’t able to locate the part number another member provided in earlier post
