HB469 was killed on a party line vote with the Ds voting in favor, and Rs voting against. Missed economic opportunity for Virginia to lead the way in electric vehicle adoption!

The "R"s did what all should have done. I left the democratic socialist state of Northern Virginia. Tim Hugo is the best delegate in the legislature. If you want an electric car go buy one, but don't expect your fellow citizens to help you do it.

Lower the tax rates and eliminate the social engineering deductions and credits. Let people spend their money how they want. And stop user fees. It is just the governments way of taxing the citizens without being up front with them. A fee is a tax. Remember when gas tax started? It was because the DEMs couldn't raise the income tax any more. Already at 90%.

Gotta love super partisan comments like this. Yet you say nothing about the massive subsidization of the oil and gas industry. 'Murica!

To be clear, I am simply reporting the only thing I could find about the committee vote. It happened to be this tweet from the Virginia Delegate who introduced the bill. Any disagreements with the content of the Tweet should be directed to the Tweeter. ;)

I don't like those or the ones to the power industry or the medical industries, or any industry. I am for the most limited government and limited taxation possible. I am also not for monopolies to prevent new companies to enter a market like the auto dealer associations are doing. I am really not for citizens to be taxed to build stadiums for sports teams.

I bet you didn't mind not being taxed for highway fees either until recently. I would prefer that road work be paid from the general tax fund. Make those needs compete with all other needs. Make legislatures have to make hard decisions.

Anyway, for those of you who disagree with the outcome, I would recommend you contact the 5 republicans who voted against this especially if you live in their district:
