The Tesla marketing team has replaced the Zero Emissions license plate on delivery. Spotted on a new Model S in San Carlos. Sorry the iphone picture quality is so bad. Underneath the wording Tesla is the web site address. I think the marketing department made the right choice. Although as an environmentalist, the Zero Emissions slogan had a large appeal to me, the car can stand up against ICE cars. And getting the Tesla name out there is a good idea. I also noticed that there is an actual license plate frame on the new car. Mine did not come with an actual frame, although I have always tended to take them off the car. I generally don't see the point of advertising a particular dealership. And I like the car to not have the fussy frame. Maybe the Zero Emissions plates will someday be a collectible. Cross posted here.
Got no frame or paper tag (Zero Emissions or the one above) with mine. I was hoping to get one just for garage decor.
Mine is on the dining room shelf along with the lucite Tesla Roadster and a handful of other oddities .... Should I be a bit embarrassed? Ironically, the rest of my house has a minimalist esthetic.
Embarrassed? I made a shadow box for all my Tesla collectable goodies (ride event badge, get amped badge, EM autograph, GB business card, Sig oddities, etc …. I know, I know Tesla FANBOY!
My car came with nothing but 2 license plate screws for the rear. E-mailed [email protected] and they send a license plate frame.
3+ months and I still have the Zero Emissions paper tag on the car, and the license plates in the trunk. I can see people in my rear view mirror reading the paper tag and talking/pointing to their passengers, I think it's very eye catching. I think the temp registration is good for 6 months, so I have 3 months to go.
I have a special car Wait, I am confused. I never got four screws with mine. But I don't know where they would go anyway, so that's okay. I have been playing with the car for months now, and I love the way it feels in the hand. I wish it came with wheels that turned. That would be really cool. It clicks though if you press different parts of the car, like the trunk or the hood. So shiny and black and fits in my pocket. When the Tesla Delivery Specialist handed it to me I was really happy. There was a second one too, but I didn't want to be selfish, so, before I shut the door, I told him he could have the other one and anything else that came with it. You should have seen the look on his face - he was thrilled, really. Have not seen him since though, so I hope his was as fun as mine. The battery has lasted all this time so I don't know what the concern there has been about "batteries" n' stuff. Still clicks! I park the car every night right next to my alarm clock and when I wake up it is ready to go! Very special car, and I like the little silver logo on the front. Thank you Mr Musk! PS: I bought the CCI console for my room and I think the car will fit inside it nicely. I recommend it.
That's either a car delivered months ago and still without plates due to the owner or a brand new 40 Kwh Model S
Interesting... I didn't get a frame either, my Svc Ctr said they were out of them and I could come by and pick one up when they had them back in...
I left the factory with a paper plate, by the time I got home it was gone. Maybe I drove to fast
I asked my service center for a frame and when I picked up my car after service it was installed ;-) I like the look better with the frame
All the cars I saw at delivery in Fremont a couple of weeks (including mine)ago had the chromed plastic rear Tesla license plate frame and the generic paper insert. Those of you who got the zero emissions ones, enjoy.
