New Winchester Service Centre

Seems to just be Show-Room at the moment. The Service centre says it's still under construction. I'll see if I can find out from them tomorrow !

Ok thank you. I was told by Tesla that a Service Centre in Winchester is opening very soon and have postponed my scheduled visit to the Bristol SC tomorrow to sort a door alignment issue I reported during my collection in Southampton on 8th September. Sounds like I might have a longer wait! It’s not a major issue but needs to get sorted at some point.

Popped by Today. They're officially (unofficially) open (still setting up One-Way Direction tape, etc)

Guys inside were lovely, and a real great help in getting my order moved to a closer delivery location. I asked as much as I could about the new store & M3, without sounding a little barmy;

Store:
  • Plans for 8 Super-Charging stations, however still awaiting Council Approval. These will be on site.
  • It is a Joint Showroom & Service Location. The Service Garage is now setup directly to the right of the store. The Service Garage also has a Body-work section at the back.
  • Currently (in Q4) there are NO, plans to do deliveries from the Winchester Location. Deliveries will continue at Southampton Docks.
  • The same guys who work down at the docks, are working at the Winchester Location. They mentioned that they're also the delivery 'specialists' for Southampton
  • They are already doing Test-Drives at the Winchester location.
New M3:
  • They've not heard anything from corporate on the new M3. And that they only get told of the updated versions, when everyone else finds out.
  • Next orders are shipping at the end of the month with 1,000 M3's; followed by three more ships, each with 1k each for the rest of the quarter.

Just been down to the store with @Mark77a. The showroom officially opened yesterday, however they are still working on the service centre building and it will be about another month before it is in use. They will be able to service Roadsters :)

We were told they are planning to have 8 superchargers to the left of the showroom, on the road that goes between them and the Mercedes dealer. At the moment the power supply to the site is the bottleneck, it is not even ideal for the SC without superchargers and the team is looking at the best way to boost it.

Speaking of the Mercedes dealer, they have clearly got a new-found enthusiasm for selling EQCs and hybrids judging by the number have banners that have sprung up on the Tesla side of their forecourt :D:D

I went in there on Friday 4th December to order my first Tesla (Model 3 LR AWD). So excited to eventually be getting one one after years of following Tesla. The service centre is not open yet, they said its been delayed. I live in Poole so it would be really handy when its open so have something closer.

Just updating this thread. Tesla has removed Super Charging facilities at Winchester from the Tesla Find-Us map. There's also no movement at the site/planning permission requests for the super-charging facilities.

Adding to this that Rowlands services (Around 8 Minutes away on the M3&27) has been added as a site, with submitting planning permission. I don't see the Super-Charger installation going ahead at the Winchester Service Centre. I'd love to be proven wrong though!

I am still waiting for an appointment for the issue I reported during M3 collection in September. It’s an alignment issue of a rear passenger door. They wanted me to drive a 200 mile round trip to Bristol SC from Poole but I said I’m happy to wait until the Winchester SC is up and running. That was 3 months ago. Hopefully not too long to wait now.

The service appointment I made yesterday is for Winchester, on the 14th January. I doubt that I'll end up taking it in, TBH, as I was only reporting that I cannot now see the speedometer display since the update, so have requested they revert the software update back to the previous one. In all probability Tesla will just can this, but by reporting it I have at least flagged up that, for some, the new screen layout presents a problem.

Winchester SC finally opened this week and they called me on Wednesday to book me in to get my door alignment issue fixed. The appointment is booked for Friday 22nd January. However I’m not clear if the current lockdown rules permits me to do this. It will be approx 100 mile round trip from Poole. Does anyone know if having your car serviced outside your local area is allowed?

Just got off a call with Tesla sales (service is closed on weekends) and on their system, Winchester SC is still showing up as “coming soon”. I think I will cancel my appointment closer to date and instead opt for mobile service is available. @M3-Mark
@Tranceporter thanks - I’ll call them next week and see what the situation is. My booking is still showing as ‘pending’ but the SC contact I spoke to who was very knowledgable about Winchester said that staffing was the only problem and they were close to sorting that.
