The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) have separately issued advance notices of proposed rulemaking seeking comments on how to safely introduce autonomous vehicles, both personal and commercial, on to U.S. roads.
The May 28, 2019 FMCSA notice calls for comments related to commercial vehicles and comments are due by August 26, 2019.
