Nikola.app - how does it work?

I just noticed that the App Store contains a macOS app called Nikola.app
It promises support for Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Roadster.
The first thing that this app does is request the user's Tesla login and password.
The thing is, I'm seriously reluctant to enter my Tesla.com password when I don't even see how this app could track battery charge, range, start air conditioning or heat - even with the Tesla.com password.

Does anyone have an idea what this app is about?

Are they talking about "support" for the unreleased future Roadster? It certainly seems possible that it supports S, X, and 3, but not the existing Roadster.

I think your right, that’s in preparation for the 2020 Roadster, I hope they start distinguishing between the two.

Indeed, that would be a very very bad idea. Those credentials could be used to unlock and turn on your car.

Indeed, it's not compatible with the Roadster at all.
Giving away your Tesla login info is just a really bad idea. I hope they introduce two-factor authentication soon.
