LTE signal was fine in DC area as of ~11am.
I had this issue happen with a '16 S85D I rented in Denver area a couple weeks ago -- did a screen reboot & that did the trick!

Yup- working now as I check my car status in SoCal from airline wifi at 38,000'! Resume normal "awesome" operations of the best car ever everyone!

LTE was down for a good hour today. i thought it was just me and i rebooted my car 5 times like a fool. I could hear the much lower quality slacker radio stream thru 3G and thought "wow this blows"

Just spoke to Tesla. This is a known issue with At&T. They are working on a fix.

I did the same thing.
Talked with Tesla service since I was "on the road again" . They said that Tesla's with LTE had the problem. AT&T was working on it. I think this is the second time that I couldn't communicate with my 2017 car.
Its back on now...
I hope this is the last AT&T Tesla outage.
I'm curious if people who use their smartphone app to unlock and drive car had big problems.
