I apologize for my extreme limited knowledge but I though HW3 only matters if you have FSD and if you dont but decide to upgrade during delivery or way down the road, they will replace to HW3 with FSD anyway

True, but if you want to upgrade eventually and already have the HW3 in your car, it can be done as a software update, and you wont need to go to the service center.
At least that's my understanding.

I just heard the same via email,
Nope. I was wrong, and so was my sales assistant.
They are taking orders, and building them new right now.
I was finally able to order, and it was built new in May.
Ignore the local sales people and just call the mail line.

So I've had 2 sales advisors in different parts of the US in the past 24 hours categorically say they are no longer building the LR RWD.

Is there a definitive answer on this? How do we know folks who recently placed orders here aren't just getting inventory models?

Most Tesla salespeople give bad information. Keep trying until you find one that knows what they are talking about.

I called Tesla directly this morning and they verified that LR RWD is still available off menu and can be ordered through a showroom or directly through Tesla.

Very likely HW3 will be swappable by a ranger, so no need to visit an SC.... (in fact given how many cars are eligible for a swap,a and how few SCs there are, it's likely a lot, if not most, cars will be swapped that way)

Even from out here in NJ, you’ve got me laughing. And hungry. Thanks a lot!

Mentioning NJ, you got me hungry you bastard.

I'd cross over the Holland tunnel and get me some of this:

I see your bastard and raise you a SOB!!

Oh yeah, now we’re talking!!! Burgers are tasty and all, but ain’t nothin’ like a great steak .... especially like Luger’s.

Old Homestead is close too, but my favorite anywhere is Hyde Park in Columbus OH. Or maybe Alexander’s in SF...........

Yeah, I’ve got a problem .......

Fixed that for you. I will take Peter Luger's over any steak in the country but I AM particular to Porterhouse cuts.

What Alexander's specializes in is their truffle oil fries. Those are the perfect carbohydrate to accompany a sizzling Luger steak.

I won't question a man for picking House of Prime Rib over Alexanders or taking New York Strip over Ribeye but if you got a car budget and you buy a Bolt, iPace, etc OVER a Tesla - yes you should be questioned.

You should schedule a Tesla factory tour, make a trip and hit some steakhouses along the Peninsula. ;)

I... I... I don't think the world is ready for a Luger steak with the parmesan truffle oil fries. And the hamachi shots. I'm not a sushi guy but man are those tasty. I might spontaneously combust from such a menu. But we can try.

I agree, there's no electric sedan on the market that beats a Tesla. Closest competitor I see could be Rivian, but that's a different market altogether. I'm rooting for them too.

A Tesla factory tour is in the cards; just a question of talking to some coworkers and making a trip out west. My son might disown me if he ever finds out I did one without him! If you're in the bay area, next time I'm out that way, steak's on me!

I was offered a European LR RWD a few days ago but I asked them to postpone delivery to mid June, hoping for it to have HW3.0 by then. But the Tesla delivery specialist was not sure if they would all be some kind of inventory cars and therefore without HW3.0. I wonder if there are any confirmed LR RWD cars with HW3.0?

I can't say for sure that my LR rear-motor has HW3.0, but mine was delivered (inventory car) with a software version that many claim was exclusive to HW3.0 equipped cars. April '19 build, VIN 346XXX.
