After the Santa Mode Update (2017.50.2)...I lost the ability to control the 17 inch display with a USB mouse. My rear seat passengers heavily relied on this...the USB mouse still works on the 3. Can anyone else confirm this?

Not that I know of. Best course of action would be to open a service case with Tesla saying that something that used to work is now broken and you want it fixed.

As a temporary workaround, perhaps your rear seat passenger who needs to control the touchscreen could sit in the front seat.
But then I would have to sit next to them.....
