No more USB charging cables included?

After a lot of back and forth with Tesla support, service, and delivery agents. I was told today, almost 2 weeks after delivery that my P3D, despite it's hefty 70k price tag, does not come with USB charging cables.

It seems even people at Tesla don't know for certain whether or not the car should come with those cables. I was told by delivery specialist, service center staff, and online support staff that they will address my missing cable with mobile service. But today I was told by mobile service agent that the cable no longer comes with the car and I have to buy them online.

Just want to ask here if anyone else took delivery recently didn't receive USB charging cables.

And please don't suggest me getting wireless charging instead. This is not the place to discuss that.

I needed both, thought they would just be delivered to me by mobile service but guess I will have to order online now

I just got my M3 LR AWD on Friday and was told the same thing - annoyed but I never planned on keeping my phone that low anyway (bought a dash mount off of Amazon)

I get the angst because they USED To come with these cables... but my wifes 70K (MSRP) 2019 X3 M40i did not come with any USB cables either... and neither did either my 2016 435 (MSRP 64k) or my wifes 2016 X5D (MSRP 77k) when I got those either.

Im not making light of it, just saying that tesla is not "bucking some industry trend" by making people buy their USB cables. For most people there is 50% waste on them too, because they gave one USB C and one lighting, and most people seem to need one or the other.

Although, if I was tesla, I would probably give them to the Model 3 P, and still include them with model S and X... but i am fairly certain that 100K bmw M5s dont come with USB cables either.

Ya true. It’s kinda a waste. I have the usb c and I’m an apple guy and everyone I know has apple and needs lightning. I’m honestly ok with them cutting it out. Heck anyone want my usb c? I’ll ship it for free provided you pay shipping. I have no need for it.
