Looks like they are going with the German philosophy as I had guessed. Basically most people are going to want the PUP for $5000 to get memory heated seats, etc.

On a related note - do you not get even basic cruse control without the first level of AP?

Overall I would say revel leads to more cancelations then new reservation.

Nothing new... just a few disappointments.

Oh I just noticed the battery warranty is not unlimited miles. Interesting.

+1 to that. I am not keen yet on the glass roof, but could do with much of the rest of that pack.

The glass roof looks amazing. It just worries me that it could break easily and would not be a cheap fix

Model S/X have it, and it's not a problem.

Some of us just want heated seats and heated mirrors. We know they aren't expensive and they're a big deal here. I expected to pay a bit extra, but $5k is a lot of extra.

Yeah for me, that $5,000 package sounds really nice. Premium packages for most cars are things I don't care about. Tesla is including a lot of different things there. I could see how it would be frustrating if you only like 1-2 of the Addons

That depends on which Model S: Classic and AP1 hardware models do get basic cruise for not paying AP1 fee but I am not sure about those with AP2 hardware but not paying for it.

Any confirmation from Tesla on this? If you need to pay 5k just for power seats?

No it's not just for power seats. It's for the upgrade package which includes power seats.

You won't be able to cherry pick options at the start of production, maybe later next year, more option choices.

I would assume the drivers would at the very least be powered.

What gets me is the no heated anything in the base. It may be part of the philosophy that most (for some value of most) cars will be built with the PUP.

And no heated steering wheel? One more anti-selling feature...

I wouldn't assume anything until someone gets their hands on a non-PUP car. Which may be a long while...
