No Premium Seats For Me

I tried to get my order changed to include the new Premium seats (I really want the ventilation), but no dice. I was told that I'd have to cancel my current order and reorder the car to get the new seats. At this point, it's not worth it - I want the car as soon as possible and it's already going to be about a month from now before it arrives. Still frustrating, though...

I'm sorry to hear but it seems consistent behavior of Tesla to do so. I'm asking to change my order to an all glass roof and was told the only way I could get it would be to refresh my order. I wouldn't lose my deposit but would have to accept today's prices which are considerably higher than when I first ordered.

Agreed seems to be consistent behavior.

I asked to upgrade to the premium seats on my 90D and was told that my car is less than 2 weeks from starting production and so I'm basically locked in.

My DS said if I was starting production in 3 weeks or more than it could have been possible with a change fee. Can't blame Tesla for doing this. Sounds like a supply chain nightmare if they were to accommodate many change orders so close to production esp. when they are trying to streamline the mfg process.

I ordered an S60D with all options except Pano/Subzero/Rear Facing/Air on 10/21. When Elon announced the all-glass roof on 11/4 I called same day and asked them to include it. They hem'd and haw'd for 8 days before finally confirming they were able to get it changed (for the $500 change fee). My design studio sheet just updated yesterday so now I consider it "official". Doesn't look like it's changed my delivery date (still shows late Nov/early Dec).

What was your order date? I did exactly the same but they were able to change it (for a fee). What prices are higher out of curiosity?

Ventilated seats in the Model X are not very good. The fan sucks air into the seat, it does not blow. The air is cabin air, not cooled air. And the air movement and effect is below the threshold of perception. Be glad.
I actually thought they were reasonably effective on my long-term test drive. They don't work the way I would have thought they would work by looking at them. The ventilation holes made me assume that they blew air through the holes like an air hockey table, but they do indeed draw air through instead. At one point I had turned them off without realizing it. Ten minutes into my drive I turned them back on and the difference was noticeable. I ended up ordering them and the whole PUP package just for the extra cooling.

I ordered back in August with delivery date in April. VIN is not assigned yet but as it is UK car I'd assume they would start manufacturing in late December/January. I'd be happy to pay the change fee only but what my delivery specialist says is: when you first ordered your car the option of all glass roof didn't exist. If it would have existed I'd pay the change fee only but since it is a configuration that wasn't available at time of ordering they would need to redo the order with the actual prices of today. Prices for the base model S90D increased by £2.600. Also prices for leather seats and AP1 increased by each £100. In fact they ask for an additional £2.800 (plus whatever I select on EAP or Full autonomy AP). They didn't mention I would have to pay a change fee on top of all that. Pretty hefty $$. I really don't understand their position why a reordering would be needed in my case.

These seats are much softer than the next gens. The ventilation (or lack thereof) is just a bonus. Just my $.02

The ventilation included in the new seats is a great feature, however I do agree that it wouldn't really be worth it considering you'd have to refresh your order and wait longer/possibly pay more. Post pics when you receive your ride!

I've enjoyed the ventilated seats in my current MB, but even here in central Florida, I've only used them very occasionally. Not worth delaying my Tesla order at all, let alone being subject to price increases.

I'll definitely post pics once it's here and fully detailed.

It would be great if they did anything. They don't in my car, or in pretty much anyone else's. Do you actually have them in your model X or are you expressing a general opinion based on other cars?

Did Tesla ever change the seats that came in the 2013-2015 Model S? The reviewers hated that seat. The complaints were numerous. Are The multi patern basic seats available now, better and if so, how?

2013 seats were different than 2015 seats though the old seats were still ofered , so you'll have to look up which seats they hated.

Also, premium ventilated seats are now available on all model S and X, even S60.
