Good data @McHoffa; I agree @dhu1 and @Sneakerbuddy

I have the elusive Black/Aero combo. Configured 1/18. Got VIN on 2/27 (40 days later). Paid and paperwork complete in 2 days. No delivery date yet. Best guess is mid-to-late March here in Texas.

Yikes. Have you been able to get your delivery specialist on the phone? I'm not that surprised by the long wait for black VIN (Although over in the Tesla.com Forums, I know someone that configured on 2/3 and got their black/aero VIN a few days ago), but I am surprised that you still don't have a delivery date nearly a week later.

The only caveat here is that manufacturing appears to be rotating through the colors/wheels on a regular basis. So there is naturally a window of delivery times based on where they were in the cycle when you configured. If you timed it just right and they just finished up a batch of your color/wheel combo, config->delivery might be relatively short. But if you configured just after the last color/wheel combo was assigned, you might have to wait all the time until the cycle repeats itself. Also, if there is a shortage of your particular wheels at the time you configured, there may be an added delay. I doubt any of this would result in a window bigger than say 2-3 weeks, but if you're trying to time selling your current car, it's something to be aware of.
True... there haven't been VIN assignments for my Red with Aero in a while, so hoping the next batch is soon. A bunch were assigned in mid February. The only one in NC on the spreadsheet was configured January 18, VIN assigned February 5, delivered February 13 in Raleigh.

Yes. I placed order for that combo on v-day and nothing. Coming up in 3 weeks on Wednesday. Impatiently waiting

I'm so looking forward to you and @McHoffa getting your VINs as that will likely mean mine is coming too as my config for the same (red/area) was on 2/22. I'm in WA state and deliveries seem to be a bit quicker than the average (currently 20 days from config to delivery). I've set my expectations to be more like 30 days though so that I will be pleasantly surprised if it comes earlier.

OK. Just got a call from a guy at Tesla in located in Vegas. He said my car is half way through the US in transit to NJ. Said he is looking at March 23rd or so for delivery but would let me know if this could happen sooner based on when it arrives. Kind of bummed its about 3 weeks out!
It's in transit and they're saying 18 more days?! When were you assigned VIN? Most of the NJ deliveries are happening about 10 days after VIN assignment on the spreadsheet.

There have been reports that some cars are sitting at Tesla stores for > 1wk without delivery. Is it possible that Tesla is sending out cars to stores because they don't have enough parking at Fremont factory? The cars were shipped before Tesla sent out invitations to customers in those locations, so Tesla doesn't know exactly who will configure and what wheel size to use? Maybe the recent batch of configurations had a larger % of 18" wheels then Tesla anticipated, so some cars are sitting in Tesla stores waiting for Tesla to also ship some 18" wheels to them and then assign to customer? This could explain why we're seeing older VINs still being assigned.

Is there a spreadsheet with current VINs?

Another big flaw is that you are looking at old data. Something seems to have happened to production volumes. Thats part of why they stopped issuing as many invitations to configure. Also, why they seem to be delivering VERY few cars.

Look at all the people who were configured but no VIN on January 31 - how many of them now have VINs and delivery? How many people currently have configured but no VIN?
I agree with this. It is only using data for people who have cells filled for config/VIN date/delivery date. There are a lot of us who are still on 30 days+ with no scheduled delivery date yet, but those aren't reflected in the stats yet b/c we haven't entered the final bit of info. The average is going to shift significantly right in the next couple weeks as those of us who have been waiting since early Feb get our deliveries lined up.

Got the VIN on Saturday. I work pretty close to my pickup location. I would say starting on Wednesday I'm going to start driving there every day to see if it has arrived. I also have it insured as of a week from now with high hopes I will get it sooner.
