here was a post on Cybertruck owner's forum from a few days back by MARSROVER " I can't say much mostly because I don't know much. What I can tell you is this week I was on conference and spoke with someone "in the know" who assured me that the RWD Variant will be 2 motor, one on each wheel. He said that from everything he has seen by the design team, there would be no single motor Cybertruck. To be clear - there will still be a $39,990 RWD Cybertruck, but it will have 2 motors on the rear axle." So is this true?
The delayed $40K variant is with RWD and 250 mile EPA range. Its the SR+ equivalent in the CyberTruck world. But its the variant with the least interest, so Tesla have currently said it'll be available a year after production starts on the two AWD variants.
I have seen the same post that Frisbee is referring to. It is rumored that instead of 1 motor in the rear there will be a motor at each rear wheel
