No USB stick error

I have a 500Gb SSD partitioned for music/teslacam/boombox and installed in my MYLR in the centre console so removed the USB from the glove box.

I have an 'exclamation' mark on the screen saying NO USB stick installed in the glovebox etc.

Is there any way to stop that as all is working with the SSD.

If I put the included stick back in, will it still use the SSD or revert back to using the stick for saving cam footage
