I ordered my M3 Oct 5TH i contacted my sales team band they said the estimates are now 4-10 weeks...
My order has not changed it still says within 2 weeks although as of today its been 2 weeds and 1 day...

No warning of this so i sold my car... it was to a buddy so i think hell let me keep driving it but...

I ordered my M3 AWD two weeks ago today. A couple days ago I reached out to my SA to see if they were going to hit the 2 week delivery estimate since it still says that on my order page. I didn't think they were going to since I haven't got a VIN yet and from all the reading on this forum concerning the beginning of the quarter production history, but figured I'd ask. I ended up getting a response yesterday from my SA saying the order time frame they gave on their website was wrong and it should have said 4-6 weeks from the time I ordered. My SA says they expect it now in early to mid November (I'm in Pittsburgh) but will have a better idea once I get a VIN assigned. Given all I've read on these forums regarding SA estimates I'm taking this new estimate with a grain of salt, but does sound better than the December dates I've been reading about and just thought I'd share what I was told.

Pittfan, I ordered from the Wexford location--also an M3 AWD, about the same time frame. Also got the perpetual 2-week estimate. Eventually gave up on it, and asked the dealership to find a similar car in inventory that they could bring in. Found one in Cincinnati just a day later, will be here next week. You might consider the same path if you're not too hung up on your particular config.

Lertulo, that's great. Accoring to Tezz.la there are only three 3s inventory now. Last night there were 6.

Right. On the other hand, that's not a complete picture. Among other things, there are multiple cars at every facility being used for test drive vehicles: they accumulate about 1k miles before being released for sale, at which point the dealers first try to match them against waiters before they're finally generally available. The same is true for cars that are still in transit: many are only soft-matched, and if you're not firm on your particular requirements it's likely you can get one before they ever show up on tezz.la as ready for public perusal.

So pickings are indeed slim, but it's not quite as bad as you might think from just watching tezz.la's paucity.

I went to test drive a LR AWD last Monday. The rep at the store told me they had two inventory in stock for what I was looking for (White ext./Black int.) He sent me the links to both vehicles and I put 2500 down on one. Had my VIN right away since it was in stock. Got my delivery text on Wednesday the 16th with the option to schedule my delivery between 10/22 and 10/24. I scheduled it for 10/24. Finished my financing approval over a couple days last week with a local credit union and got the check cut on Thursday. So everything appears set for my delivery Wednesday! I feel really lucky with my timing because if they hadn’t had the one I wanted in stock it looks like I might be waiting a couple months.

Just spoke to the SA in Tampa and she validated that order are 6-8 weeks out and December is a more realistic expectation. Asked if I found a vehicle in another market could I pick the Tesla up in that market and have the local Tesla delivery center process my trade in and was advised they would not do that. At this point I'll hold my order and crunch the numbers whenever the car arrives, then decide if I'ms till willing to take delivery.

Who's your delivery specialist?? I am in Tampa as well, we'll have to get together!

This is probably a really dumb question, but I've looked through some relevant threads and hadn't found an answer - is there a set "time of day" when the source code changes to reveal a VIN - i.e., everything updates at midnight or something - or is it on a rolling basis? (Or none of the above, I guess?)

Placed order on October 4th, and really looking forward to the Ctrl+F to come back positive!

I ordered Model 3 Performance on October 5th still no VIN :-( how ever I did call SA they told me that they are getting VINs every day that means that Tesla switched back to US market so hopefully VIN soon.

If if one of you gets a. VIN please say what model you have ordered.

Ordered oct 13 m3 long range MSM on black

I found a match myself a few states away, called the SC and they matched me to the vin. The vin showed in my source code the next day

Yesterday a vin presented overtly in my account, but it’s not the vin I originally matched. I texted my advisor and they kind of
Just said “huh that’s interesting” but didn’t say anything.

today they call me and told me they gave my car away to someone else because they were “closer” to the car and they wanted to optimize shipping costs. Planned my entire schedule and family events around the delivery which is over an hour away. And they just gave it to someone else

now this other vin I have is supposedly if a car at the factory and they don’t expect it for over a month.

really upset about the bait and switch - I rushed to get a connector situated and all my docs were ready. Now I’m playing the waiting game like everyone else

moral is - I’d you marched a vin to another car, be prepared for them to
Pull it out from under you

mind you, my account still has the same delivery date scheduled and I’m told that’s not
