Noise from Rear Wheel Fixed

    I started hearing a metallic rubbing sound from the rear wheel, and pulled into a parking lot that happened to belong to a auto repair place. The guy came out and found that there was some rubbing against the ?backing plate?. In any case, he just bent something and that fixed it.

    My questions: What do you think happened? Did I run over a stick that bent something?

    Have any of you had that problem?

    May be a picture would help, I cannot really understand the exact rubbing location? Top of the wheel, front, rear...

    Also comparing the same location on the other side would be something interesting to look at.

    I don't know the details, since I never saw it (I was in the driver's seat keeping the car in neutral when the guy jacked up the rear wheel and moved it). That is, I didn't see anything.

    Sounds like the brake shield was rubbing against the rotor.
