Woohoo! Finally a date for a long anticipated opening!

Join us the morning of Saturday, May 12, 2018 to celebrate the opening of the Southlake Supercharger and the Plano and Dallas Urban Superchargers!

Arrive in Southlake as early as 8:30 am to enjoy Breakfast à la Frunk and mingle with Tesla and other EV owners.

At 9:00 am we'll celebrate the Southlake Supercharger with Mayor Laura Hill and representatives from North Central Texas Council of Governments with a ribbon cutting. After that, there's time to explore Southlake Town Square before we continue on our way.

At 9:45 am, we'll begin our trip to Plano and we may well form the largest EV car rally* in Texas history!

We'll target 11:00 am to celebrate the Plano Urban Superchargers.

If you don't have a Supercharger hangover after the Southlake and Plano celebrations, join us on the final drive to the Dallas Urban Supercharger and earn the Supercharger trifectra!

To help us with our planning (the logistics of moving so many cars, plus catering considerations), please register yourself and how many you plan to bring. This event is open to everyone and we encourage everyone to come and celebrate with us.

* We'd really love to make this the largest EV rally in Texas so... Bring your EV! (as many as you have) There is additional charging in the West garage (2 bays) & East garage (4 bays) with ChargePoint.

We'll share more details, photos and videos later, but very briefly...

Fifty-one cars attended, ten of which were Model 3s!

We were joined at Southlake Town Square by Mayor Laura Hill, Councilmember Christopher Archer & North Central Texas Council of Governments DFW Clean City Coalition's Bailey Muller for remarks about Supercharger growth, the City of Southlake, "how cool Tesla owners are" and a ribbon cutting.

From there, we drove to Shops at Legacy to celebrate on our own -- the video of the ~forty cars speeding up the Sam Rayburn Tollway is excellent! We showed off the trash cans that RPAI (property manager for Southlake & Plano) has placed at these Supercharger sites and teased an upcoming rare addition to Southlake (and cut a ribbon of course).

We then fought the ridiculous traffic on Dallas North Tollway and North Central Expressway and finished up in Dallas at Houndstooth Coffee & TreeHouse to celebrate the first Supercharger in Dallas County, with a ribbon cutting and a toast of sparkling grape juice.

Thanks to our volunteers who made this event look a lot easier to execute than it really was and to our contributing members who provided the funding that made this event possible.

And one of those 10 is mine !!

It was a fun event, food was great, weather was phenomenal. The drive to Plano SC with a convoy of 50+ Tesla’s was the highlight.

I was thinking if someone had positoned themselves at Parkwood and 121 service road Xn, they could have flimed a continuous stream of 50+ Teslas slowing down and taking a right turn. Wow what a sight that would be.

Great organization by Rick and team.

Now with the impending Plano service center to open this month, and a large number M3 deliveries expected - I am guessing North Texas club will be the largest outside of CA pretty soon.
