OK, thx. Tyco is telling me that there is only MSM LR with 20" available for a couple of weeks now, and at Baltimore. Not sure why they didn't say the blue existed - that is the color I really want. I've had 4 grey cars in a row. Time for a change. Congrats on your delivery, though!! Post pics if you can

Interesting... I just got the call today, and car is being dropped off from TyCo tomorrow, assuming my bank can print the check for pickup in time.

FYSA, y'all... I was a day 1 reserve holder, but changed my wheels to the 20 inches just yesterday... and got the call today!

Good luck and stay safe!

Picked my MSM 20" today from TYCO. It has been there since 3/31 waiting on parts to make some corrections. I did not see this Blue when I was there. Last week I was offered another color if available if they could not get the part to fix mine before the factory re-opened. I would have taken this blue if offered.

Honestly, at this point, at least reading about the improvements that Tesla is making to the factory with hopes to open in early May, and given that I've driven basically zero miles in weeks, I'm not that concerned any longer. Happy to get a later VIN at this point, and if it comes in late May, then be it. Hopefully the country is in a much better place in late May/early June, and when I receive my Y, I will enjoy it just the same. And somehow, if they deliver it sooner (I keep hearing there are MYs built sitting at the factory), then so be it.

I do think they have a good amount of Y's just sitting at the factory but no way to transport. So whatever is at most service centers is all that's available probably for at least 1-2 months. I had a white one sitting in Fremont apparently, was supposed to be delivered to me back in March.. never got on a truck though apparently, apparently a bunch of its brothers and sisters (like VIN's right next to it) did back in on a truck to Virginia, just not mine. Luckily their are a few PUP's here and I get to pick between two MSM PUPs now, should be picking up one tomorrow. I was going to have a storm trooper (white on black), now I get a tie fighter (gray and black), yep, love Star Wars :) I showed the color to my 4 year old, she likes it the most of all the colors, likes the blue sparkles (metallic flake) in it :)

Is Tyco mounting a license plate on the front? Any car I've purchased in VA I've instructed the dealer not to mount a front plate bracket, and I usually purchase an aftermarket mount that doesn't damage the front of the vehicle.

This is what I learned so far. If there is no bracket on the front installed on the vehicle, you may be able to get away with a ticket - atleast in DC-MD-VA area.

WRT to day 1 reserve holder or otherwise when you ordered, here is my timeline:

1. Ordered on 3/17/2020 - yes, two weeks ago.
2. Status stuck to 'preparing contract' from the very second day
3. Changed my configuration from Gemini to Induction wheel last week. Got a call next day about the delivery date
4. Picked the car 2 days ago

Great to hear! I have had dealers who ignored my request repair/replace bumper skins...and even walked completely away from a deal because of front bumper butchery.

Yep - Tyco did the double sided tape thing when I picked up my Model 3 2 years ago. It’s a really great shop and they’ll treat you fine... especially if you’re cool with them.

FWIW, I’ve seen a few self-important Tesla owners act like jerk to Tesla staff, and heard incredible stories about the rudest owners. Rolling your eyes in commiseration with team Tesla and keeping your cool will serve you well :)

FYI

My Delivery Specialist called me to check on the delivery experience. He also mentioned that starting today Tesla furloughed majority of the team at the center and hence the no of deliveries will further slow down. This should not effect Service staff.

This is my second Tesla from Tyco. They did not mount the front plate on my 3 two years ago or my Y by default. I did not have to ask them not to. The temp VA tags were on the front plate bracket that was setting in the back of the vehicle.

What are you all doing about I you have a flat tire in the Y?

In Maryland, each new vehicle must receive a flat tire repair kit if a spare tire is not included. Verified the kit is included in delivery.

That being said, you can call Tesla's Road Assistance from the mobile app and it will be considered a priority since vehicle is not drivable. The mobile service will also carry spare tires in case tire cannot be repaired on the road.

Yes, no rush here as well.
