I have been looking for the kind of material the nose cone is made from, maybe I missed it. Worried that it is susceptible to rock pit and cracks.

    Plastic. No dings yet.

The outer parts of bumpers on most cars these days are plastic. No biggie.

I have one paint chip due to road debris just above the nosecone, but the nosecone itself is perfectly fine so far, no sign of damage despite ugly winter roads and living on a gravel truck route.

Unfortunately, I rammed into an Altima today going a out 5 mph. The hit felt significant, but I hit the car w the nose cone. To my surprise, no damage at all. Did not crack or break. Seems pretty durable.
