They asked me for this as well. All sent.

Yeah, they asked me for this as well.. at least I felt like the wheels were turning *somewhere* :) Through all this though, I have been in constant communication with a specific Product Specialist at Tesla and have to say that they really are doing everything they can to move things along, but it seems like there is still a bit of a disconnect between the product specialists (in Deer Creek) and the people making decisions about what to prioritize 'out on the line'. Lots of back and forth with things like.. Well I think you should be getting your VIN soon.. Well, it looks like your VIN won't come for a couple weeks, You should get your car by the end of the year, oh.. now I don't know when, but probably sometime in January.

Very early on (like within days after I replied to the 'Do you want delivery in December' email) I called Tesla and had a heart-to-heart asking: "Do you guys *REALLY* *REALLY* think you are going to get me the car by the end of the year? Because if that's the case, then I'm going to have to really jump through some hoops, talk to my wife, liquidate stock, talk to my wife, get an electrician quickly (and ...yes, more expensive..--talk to my wife-- ) to wire up my garage ASAP., oh, and talk to my wife about all this happening right around our Christmas holiday" To which they told me, YES... We will get the car to you by the end of the year, you should definitely prepare. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, it's kind of amusing in a sadistic way, and really nothing compared to what some of the Sig owners went through. I am just more curious about what they're organizational structure must look like with left and right hands seemingly having zero conversations.

I expect to be able to use Fed Tax Credit on 2012 taxes since payment and MVPA are in 2012, despite possible 2013 delivery. Anyone know differently?

That's what they've told me (though it's moot now; I won't even get a VIN till after the new year) and it makes sense to me, but I'm not a lawyer or accountant.

The 6 stages of Tesla delivery:
1. Elation
2. Hope
3. Doubt
4. Disillusionment
5. Acceptance
6. ... ?

6. Delivery, finally! ;-)

I received 3 phone calls from my DS between Sunday and Monday, got my VIN as well as assurance that my Model S would arrive in South Florida before the New Year. They had asked me to pre-pay when the car was ready and on Monday I was told that I was 1 step away from completion and the car would be on a truck in 1-2 days. Since then, nothing. No requests for payment, no response to email. I'm pretty bummed. VIN #2385.
If you haven't paid in full it's probably not getting on a truck until you do. Details on how to do this are in the final MVPA paperwork. I opted to overnight via FedEx a PenFed check and a personal check to cover the remaining balance rather than wire transfer.

I asked Tesla what needed to happen before they could load the car on the truck. Signed final paperwork and payment in full has to be received before they could load it. That's all done and check has cleared my bank account, DS said it's been released and is now in the hands of those loading trucks. So basically the car has been sold in 2012, and will arrive sometime in the future but no idea when exactly.

Nikoli I wonder if we will be on the same truck, my wire cleared yesterday and my DS also said I was released for loading and shipment. Let me know if you get any shipment updates, and I will do the same...though Cincinnati will likely come before Pittsburgh!

I didn't say I believed the answer...

Right. I guess I just get a little "disappointed" with disingenuous statements like this. I think everyone would forgive them if they simply said "we're overwhelmed with the number of deliveries, and just haven't set up our processes for handling the rebates yet". I hate it when fingers are pointed elsewhere to deflect blame or responsibility.

Well, it is possible that they do have some bureaucratic problem with the government, and that was just a polite way of saying it. When I got my Roadster rebate the government didn't exactly have their act together - Tesla deducted it but the government sent me the check by accident! (Mind you, mine was the first one ever processed.)

That seems completely reasonable to me. Only I can't find anyone who will take my money. It is an e-check that the dealer has to fill out. I asked when we will move ahead with that and have heard nothing for three days. I don't think I have ever had to try so hard to pay for a car.

Final MVPA has been received and DocuSigned. Payment info has been forwarded to the bank for a wire transfer in the morning!

Soooo exciting.

Now, Tesla Motors, please put my car on a truck and send it my way!

The Model S delivery saga continues...

After a week of multiple phone calls with an inside delivery specialist in CA and one random e-mail from a local DS, we just got a call from the sales rep that we reserved the car from at the Bellevue store and shortly after, the final mvpa from her. Apparently they are now enlisting help from the stores to get the paperwork done.

So we are signed and wire will go out in the morning. Here's hoping for speedy delivery.

Lol... don't hate me for my Vin.... :)

Heh, just for your res. #. Seriously, almost 1400 higher than mine! I'm jealous, but congrats to you and I hope it arrives swiftly.

I'm curious, when you got the "want your car in December," how long before you clicked? I think there were hours or maybe (?) as much as a day between when the e-mail hit my inbox (not when I saw it, hence part of the delay) and when I clicked Yes (also had to talk to my other half). I'm starting to wonder how much that set me back. ;-)
