NRMA fast charging network

I have it on good authority Cobar has a project with NRMA to get a fast charger installed.
A location has been selected and is well along in design.
There are hopes it will be up and running by the end of this year. But that came with the obvious qualifications around COVID and getting skilled resources out that far from the big smoke.
No information on how many units would be installed.

I also reported last year that Nyngan council were in talks with NRMA.
I've heard/seen no more about this, but with Cobar proceeding, it certainly makes sense for Nyngan to get up and running,

We now just need some news for Willcannia and Broken Hill.
With the NSW governments $120m in funding for fast chargers, I may be able to get to Broken Hill and Bourke in my SR+ sometime in 2022... assuming I'm allowed to leave home at all.

Was stationed in Cobar sometime back. Great initiative to have a fast charger given most interstate outback trips intersect in Cobar. hopefully Griffith — Hillston is soon. A blast to drive on the 300km long no man’s straight road to Cobar.

After a long period of no new sites, Coonamble and Walgett have now been added as “coming soon” sites on Plugshare!

Interesting.
Were they seeing it as different to a regular roadside membership.

Any questions on kWh pricing for non-members?
No, only the trade off of monthly subscription vs electricity price. The power cost was not shown. The bundles included specialised roadside service, emergency charging, route planning etc.

The only worthwhile thing for me was specialised roadside assistance and emergency charging. Anyone who has A Better Route Planner already has what they need and the ChargeFox discount for NRMA members is pretty attractive

Yeah, I don’t know why they would think there is value in re-inventing the wheel there with a suggestion they might do their own app. Not only is there ABRP, but Tesla and even Nissan have their own trip planners.

The only thing that was of interest to me in the survey is discounted charging, which I already have with Chargefox as an ordinary NRMA member.
