Somebody please explain to me how delays due to supplier issues and an initial factory rampup for a new car company have *anything* to do with electric vehicles? As if these issues bring into question whether EVs are going to make it?

Umm...Dear NY Times. Read any friggin' review of the Model S. That answers your question.

Absolutely. These would be issues with any large start-up industrial enterprise on the scale of Tesla's. The headline writers at the Times often get it very wrong.

Keep in mind, this is a business writer with no particular knowledge or expertise in cars. I'm much more interested in the review on Sunday by the car writer for the Times. A blog post on Dealbook isn't exactly going to make or break Tesla.
