Oahu Public Charging Locations

Since we have no Super Chargers and unreliable charging locations, I wanted to start a thread for the places around Oahu with information for public chargers.

Plugshare has outdated information but is still a source. Charge Point and Volta apps work well with their systems.

Please include location, cost and the charging speed in kwh because different cars have different mileage charging speeds.

I went to Ka Makana Alii Mall yesterday and charged on the JuiceBox charger and had 40 Amps/8 kwh charge for free, 2 hour max. I have a Model 3 LR RWD. All lower Model 3 battery packs will charge at a maximum of 32 Amps.

Home Depot in Kapolei is free too, 3 chargers, 32 Amps/6 kwh charge. Unfortunately, a food truck is right up against one of the parking stalls and the table is right at your door.

Be careful with that juice box at Ka Makana Alii. It has been known to melt a few Tesla charging adapters.

That’s cool, when more people participate at the locations, the better. There are some places that don’t exist anymore, like the Waipahu TESLA Service Center.

Home depot.. Yeah they need to move that food truck. I notice people just sitting in their cars for some free charging too. Supposed to park, shop, then leave.

Went to my favorite plate lunch place, Rainbow’s Drive In, EV sign removed but charger still there. Good luck getting that stall!

Could not get a charge connection with charger in Kailua across Longs inside parking structure. A Leaf was fine but Model 3 was a no go.

What does everyone think of Destination Chargers located at local movie theaters, like Ward 16, Pearlridge, Pearl Highlands, Kapolei, Dole Cannery, Kaneohe? Preferences?

The opposite side of store entrances. This will deter people parking and not charging. Ala Moana and Pearlridge are the hardest to get charges due to the volume of cars. Kailua is the easiest because of the amount of chargers vs volume of cars.

They replaced the charging cables at the Kailua Target so now they lock on to the charging adapter. I’m assuming it will now work.

Impatiently waiting for the new Ala Moana Volta charging stations. The new ones on the ground level by Foodland and JTB have been there for a couple weeks already but are not operational yet. I added the other ones to PlugShare on the second level by Nordstrom, Nieman Marcus, and Bloomingdales after I saw them painting EV parking spots the other day. It still might be a month or two before they come online though...
