Obsidian Black Touch Up

My 85D arrived with a tiny chip in the drivers door, unfortunately didn't notice until I pulled into my driveway at home. I think we all know the touch up paints are either not available or severely back ordered, seems like poor planning but that's for another post. My question: has anyone considered another cars touch up paint, specifically MB offers obsidian black. My spot is so small a slight color variation won't be noticeable, certainly less than the white spec.
Any other successful alternatives suggestions?

Check with Dr. Colorchip. We have been able to get every Tesla color we have needed from them with just a few day turn around time. From what I understand they custom mix each kit per order. It's also much easier to apply than standard touch up paint that comes with a brush and seems to match very well.

That's an excellent idea. With a chip being small, you'll never really notice the color difference. Also, there are paint supply shops that sell paint to body shops. They should be able to color match by the paint code from Tesla.

Found Tesla on the site. Can anyone confirm the color code PPSB corresponds to Deep Blue Metallic? The site lists it as Ocean Blue Metallic.

There is 100% a Tesla option from 2012 to 2015. We have used their paint on every Tesla color up to the brand new ones without issue.

Thank you Dave@TLC, I had come across this but fairly ignorant on external care, sounds like it is a decent match as much as a metallic likes this can be.
