Lately my center screen has been going completely back for 4 or 5 seconds then returning. It is not a reboot and no services are interupted (music, heater, etc). It happens maybe once or twice a day and doesn't seem to be associated with anything noticeable. Could this be the predecessor of a larger problem ?

Thank you, but no, I don't notice any of those. However, I don't use the browser so cant comment on that.
Oh I just noticed you have a 2018 so would be rare for you to have emmc issue yet. Did this start happening after last update? It could also fix itself after the next update.
Thanks-- I think it did start after the update. Its not a problem, I was just wondering if it was a precursor to something.
Could be the update just didnt go so well, it's pretty rare. Also could be emmc, we have seen a few cases where it went out after only 2 years. I would imagine your under warranty. Maybe try asking Tesla to repush firmware after you explain the issue.
Yes, would be unusual for Tesla to design in planned obsolescence DURING the warranty period.
