Octopus Smart Meter Experiences

I spoke to an Octopus Smart Meter team member today around the smart meters not changing their rates on Octopus Go.
This response may be useful for those of you who were also keen to understand the situation and if there's a remedy.

I wonder if there's a wiki we can add this to.



I'm going to try this and report back in a week or 2.

I realised I never reported back on this. It works great, it’s not a “must have” but it’s useful to see the IHD match up with the right figures after charging at night. I’ve not had any issues since.
 
Does it also mean the IHD updates cost accurately too?
Yes it does. Sometimes it’s a few weeks behind if your tariff changes (we changed from 5p to 7.5p off-peak Go on 14/8 and it didn’t change until last week on the IHD) but other than that it tracks the amount used and correlates it with the price per KWh at that point in the day and shows the cost in ‘real’ time.
