Just got them back today. Freezing up here so brought them inside to clean them up and ceramic coat them. Still dirty from tire mounting. After chemical stripping and sandblasting they were hot blocked to off-gas, powdercoated gloss black, wheel face painted with hyper-silver automotive paint and then powdercoated with a tinted clear on top. Going on my pearl white 3. Will update after ceramic coating and reinstalled with the Tesla carbon fiber center caps:

Love the wheels look great. Weird question, but are you on the “corner carvers” forum?

Those are SICK!!! How’d you’d figure out who to go with? Word of mouth/recommendation or someone you know? Incredible work. Ski

Both word of mouth and a recommendation. True Hyper-silver and Hyper-black need the gloss black base powdercoat, bright silver automotive paint middle coat and a clear or tinted clear powdercoat topcoat.

Looks really really nice. Would you be willing to share how much this cost for the set?

3 stage finish shown is $160/wheel. UnionRim

Can you please weigh 1 so we would have an example of the weight difference (if any) of powder coating? Thanks

Interestingly I weighed my wheel/tire combos way back prior to the refinish. Digital bathroom scales were 48.0 which jived with the 25lb wheel and 23lb tire. Weighted the refinished ones tonight and they are all 47.8. I’m going to write that off as tire wear as the original wheel finish was chemically stripped and sandblasted prior to re-coating so that was probably a wash.

Wow. Blast from the past! I was but it was quite a while ago. I tracked my ‘03 Cobra for 10 years from ‘03 to ‘13. Mostly Mosport and Calabogie. Built it up into a great handling car. My cardiologist made me quit........ The 03DSG handle was my ‘03 Dark Shadow Grey Cobra in the avitar. I take it you were on the forum?

Finally got time to ceramic coat the wheels. Used GTechniq C5 Wheel Armour. Did them off the car in the house and let them cure for 24 hours. Mounted them tonight. The cars sitting high as it was on jacks for 10 days and I just dropped it. Hard to get accurate pictures. My iPhone 10 camera makes them brighter and lighter than in person. Just ceramic coated the CF center caps tonight and will try to get some outside pictures tomorrow in the sun.
