OEM Suspension Position Sensors

I swapped out the springs in my 2020 3LRD yesterday and noticed that it has suspension position sensors on the left hand side, front and rear. None on the right hand side.

I haven't seen these mentioned anywhere yet, and I'm curious about what they would be doing. My theories are:
- Monitoring shock absorber performance/wear
- Load monitoring for determining braking/stability control requirements

Anyone know? Maybe this is a common thing, but I've never owned a car with these before.

yes, it's in my 2019 M3P, I noticed it when I upgrade to KW V3. It could be there for adjusting the headlights or cameras or mirrors

It's EU law about headlight automatic adjustments. US version doesn't have them.

Oh ok! So how do US cars level their headlights? Or don't they have "auto" leveling?

I don't really know. I guess it's just a voluntarily decision.
